"Approval has been granted for the building of the new Youth & Community Centre.

We wish to thank the SCC Land & Property Project team for their support and for working so collaboratively with us.

As a result of the project, pot holes have been repaired in the area to the site. Also the street lighting near the old Care Home (works start 11 Feb). The woodland to the east of the centre was cleared of dangerous trees in January with 2 more to be done in March once the bats hibernating in them wake up.

They aim to have the building completed by the end of September 2026 which means that by time we take over & get the building ready for use (we have to fund the kit that goes inside) we should be open for 1st January 2027 for general use.

Whilst, as end users, we are not involved in the construction stages of the centre, we know the project team are conscious it will inevitably impact on neighbours. We are sure they will do all they can to mitigate this & keep neighbours informed as they have done with works mentioned above."
