Each year the BRA faces new challenges and 2025 and the start of 2026 have been no different. Mole Valley District Council has confirmed that its  Community Governance Review (CGR) showed that Bookham Residents were against creating a Parish Council, and in 2026 our village will be facing the transition to the new East Surrey Unitary Authority in 2027.  All of this has, and will continue to take much time and resource. 

We are very appreciative of the positive feedback that was given by many of you on the work and activities of the BRA during the CGR process. To have such recognition is of course very heartening but equally important was the feedback on areas where we can further enhance what we do. Thank you to all who commented. 

This will be at the forefront of our focus as we head into the unchartered territory of working with the new Unitary Authority. 

We continue to work on many other issues for the village which range from Christmas lights, the fantastic work to enliven Lower Shott, and our support for the new Bookham Youth Centre which is finally making real progress.

Our team of volunteers work tirelessly to make these things happen, but your help and support through the payment of subscriptions and donations is crucial to allow us to continue with this work.

We are now commencing the collection of subscriptions for our financial year from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026. The annual subscription remains at £5.00 per household, but we would be grateful if you are also able to also make an additional donation, however small, to help us continue to support our community.
